Alternative Dispute Resolution
Alternative Dispute Resolution is an efficient route to solve a number of real estate issues. PPA has experience with the procedures and issues that often arise in mediation and arbitration. PPA has acted as a neutral and advocate in various forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Arbitration is similar to a mini-trial in which a neutral party listens to two (2) conflicting sides and issues a decision based on what is presented by the parties. Arbitration is often binding and is extremely difficult to overturn after the neutral issues a decision.
Unlike arbitration, mediation does not guarantee that an issue will be resolved. In mediation, the neutral acts less like a judge and more like a coach in the hopes of helping the two (2) sides reach a resolution.
